2023 is going to be a great year for animated movies since there are quite a few animated movies coming out that are highly anticipated. Spider-Man Across the Spiderverse
The sequel to the 2018 movie Spider-Man Into the Spiderverse which basically introduced the idea of a multiverse before Spider-Man No Way Home did. Spider-Man Across the Spiderverse continues the story of Miles Morales after Miles has grown up a bit and has gotten better at being Spider-Man, aside from Peter Parker who isn’t really the Spider-Man in this universe. In this part, it is expected that Miles will once again reunite with Gwen Stacy (who is Spider Gwen) so that they could further explore the multiverse. There would be yet another threat to the Spiderverse and both of them will have to meet more variants of Spider-Man so that they could protect the Spiderverse.Â
Since the first movie was way better than people had expected it to be, it is anticipated that the second part will be just as good, or it could even be better than the first part. The only way to find out would be to watch the movie itself. One of the best things about Spider-Man Into the Spiderverse was the animation style of the movie which will be carried forward in Spider-Man Across the Spiderverse as well.Â
Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget
Many of us grew up watching Chicken Run which first came out 22 years ago and had no sequel ever since. However, 22 years later we are finally getting a sequel and it follows the story of our favorite chickens, Ginger and Rocky. Rocky and Ginger are living on their island as peacefully as they can until their daughter Molly escapes the Island. Rocky and Ginger have to go out looking for their daughter before she is turned into a chicken nugget by Dr. Fry, who is the villain in the movie.Â
Just like The Incredibles which took so many years to give us a sequel, Chicken Run has done the exact same thing and we can’t help but have great expectations from the movie. However, one thing that you need to keep in mind before you watch the movie is that the voice actors for the characters have changed, Zachary Levi will play Rocky instead of Mel Gibson and Thandiwe Newton has taken the place of Julia Sawalha for Ginger.Â
The Super Mario Bros. Movie
Mario has been a part of our lives ever since we were children. We used to play games on the Nintendo which included Super Mario Bros., Smash Bros, and even Mario Kart. However, after all these years our favorite Italian plumber is getting a place on the big screen by having a movie of his own. In this movie, Mario (who is played by Chris Pratt) will have to team up with Toad (Keegan Michael Key) and Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy) so that he could save his brother Luigi (Charlie Day) so that they could enter the Mushroom Kingdom and could save it from its despicable ruler King Bowser (played by Jack Black).Â
The cast of the movie seems pretty promising, which is one of the reasons why everyone is so excited to watch the movie. The animation of the movie looks pretty good as well. In the movie, Mario gets to go head-to-head with Donkey Kong as well and we get to see an exciting Mario Kart race as well, which sums up everything from the games.Â
Shrek 5
Even though not much has been revealed about the upcoming Shrek movie, it is still among the most anticipated ones because after all, it’s Shrek we’re talking about. It is expected that the movie will take place a couple of years after the events of Shrek Forever After. We might get to see Shrek and Fiona deal with their teenage kids or the story might even be entirely different. Considering how amazing the latest Puss in Boots movie was, it is expected that this one will be a great one as well.Â
Shrek 5 should most certainly be on your list to watch because the Shrek movies never disappoint. So be sure to keep an eye out for the release date so that you could watch the movie ASAP.Â
